At Boise Rock School, we teach students how to play their instruments and how to use their music as an inspirational and exciting tool to contribute to their community. We believe giving every student the opportunity to perform and share their musical accomplishments with an audience is a valuable and rewarding experience for everyone. The group environment also teaches students valuable life skills such as creative problem solving, listening, compromise and resilience.
As a volunteer, you play an essential role in helping Boise Rock School and our students grow. From helping out in classrooms, to distributing promotional materials, to setting up gigs, volunteers are instrumental in Boise Rock School’s success! We are so grateful for your time, talent, and enthusiasm. There is a place at Boise Rock School for everyone.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities:
- Classroom Assistant: While instructors here have their classes covered, sometimes additional help can really pay off, especially if you have any musical expertise or classroom experience. If you decide you want to help in the classroom, you will act as an assistant to one of our instructors. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: instrument assistance, class preparation, and classroom organization. Classroom volunteers must complete a training session with Boise Rock School’s Education Director.
- Street Team: We often need help promoting events and gigs around town. Community volunteers may be asked to attend local events and pass out fliers, hang posters around town, distribute promotional materials at local schools, or help with the digital marketing of these promotional materials. Community volunteers may also be asked to help with the creation of these promotional materials.
- Community Engagement & Events: Boise Rock School has many gigs and events throughout the year. We often need help with setting up gigs, hauling gear, filming, taking pictures or selling merch, and providing informational material at these events.
