Founded in 2008, Boise Rock School is a nonprofit dedicated to its mission: that all people deserve access to creative music instruction regardless of economic status or other life circumstances. In our 12 year history, we have impacted over 10,000 students between our Boise location and our outreach program, known as Rock On Wheels. We have brought critical music education to students in Ada County and beyond, including public and private schools, refugee centers, hospitals and juvenile correction facilities.

Help us build out our new home!
In December 2019, we embarked on a capital campaign to expand our facilities with the goal of acquiring a permanent, nonprofit owned building. In December 2020, with the generous support of local businesses, foundations, and individuals, we completed our fundraising goal for the purchase of a building and acquired a 7000 sf building at 5022 West Fairview in Boise. This new location will provide more than enough room to accommodate the growth of our programming and provide a permanent home that will be around for many generations.
We are now in the phase of the campaign where we are raising funds to build out our new facility and upgrade equipment. We have expedited our fundraising deadline and need $500,000 to complete our fundraising efforts to begin providing classes in our new space by February 14, 2022.
Building design and construction team includes ZGA architects and HC Company. Our new building will have 12+ dedicated classrooms, a recording and production studio, outdoor event space, an all-ages venue and offices for administrative support. The new location will serve as an all-ages arts center — a vital cultural hub for future generations.
